My Story

After graduating from Gustavus Adolphus College in 1999, I returned to Sioux Falls to work for the family business. During my tenure at Dakota King, Inc. the philosophy of “if you take care of your people, they’ll take care of everything else” was instilled. Every decision made was a team effort and based on the company’s goals and mission: develop people and be community leaders.

In November 2016, my father and brother sold the company. I did my best to adjust to the new ownership and their way of doing things. Unfortunately, after a painful realization that our values misaligned, I decided to take a leap of faith and discover a new way I could positivity impact the world. Three weeks later, I found myself in Denver, Colorado as a student enrolled in the Coaches Training Institute certification program.

The past year has been an incredible journey as I have demonstrated fierce courage saying “YES” to things I believe are opportunities to have the greatest impact on the world, specifically young adults (i.e. Mount Marty College’s B.L.I. Freshmen Retreat at the Grand Canyon).

As the founder of Empowered Coaching, LLC., I partner with people to help them embrace who they are, get clear about what they want, and empower them to move forward.

I am a focused and passionate woman who enjoys the challenge of getting out of my comfort zone. I am known for my “can-do” attitude and over-the-top enthusiasm. I boldly stand in commitment, action and lifelong learning. I am passionate about assisting others to be conscious and live a life on purpose; recognizing that every decision we make is either moving us towards the life we want (or the person we want to become) or in the opposite direction.

In addition to being a Certified Co-Active Coach, I am a Master Graduate and Eagle Quest Warrior of Rapport Leadership International, a Dale Carnegie Course Graduate, and a competent communicator through Toastmasters International.

My hobbies are coaching Girls on the Run and Dakota Spirit All Star Cheer, mentoring both students and women through various organizations, and facilitating monthly Leadership Breakthrough reunions.
